Welcome to the Firsts

Stocksbridge Scouts are based in Stocksbridge (no big surprise there then!). Stocksbridge is about 10 miles north west of Sheffield. Our group are known locally as the Firsts.

We are part of the Sheffield Don District and are known also as the 32nd Sheffield.

We were started in 1912 and so this year is our centenary. We've got a year of thrills, adventure and fun planned with bigger, better and wilder activities planned.

If you'd like to join us either as a beaver, cub or scout please click the join badge on the right.

Ready Steady Cook or Too Many Cooks ?

alt

Ainsley Harriott never had such a bunch of young cooks as we had during our annual Ready Steady Cook Competition. Our revamped patrols had their first chance to prove their teamwork. Each patrol was given a bag of food. This year the bag included mince, passatta, plums and red onions. Everone knows the idea. 30 minutes to produce an (edible) meal. Our guest judge this year was Emily Needle, who along with Shaun and Nick tasted all 4 entries.

This year we tasted 4 good main courses and sweets. All three judges agreed that standards are improving but one main course stood out amongst all the others. In fact the judges tried it a few times, just to make sure!

Well done to all 4 patrols but the winners were the patrol of Adam, Reece, Luke, Liam and Jack.  More photos in our Scout Section.
